BP Studio’s Spring and Summer 2012 collection reflects a desire to make clothes that hardly feel like clothes; that have a spontaneous and pure feeling on the skin so that you and the clothes become one.
It’s not an easy task to achieve, but the comfortable volumes, natural fibres and light knits do work wonders and feel great on.
Some of the characteristics of the collection are destructured pieces in which cut and hang do their magic.
Structure, however, does show up as is tradition for BP Studio, with the fabric stitch pieces that appear in every collection, but with a special approach that roughs it up, makes it a bit ‘rusty’.
There’s also fascinating form in the works made in raffia jersey – an unusual jacket, skirt, and dress are available.
Classic light cashmere, cashmere-silk blends, and chunky cotton knits characterize the sweater and cardigan collection.
Light silk layering pieces look wonderfully feminine.
Colours range from intense blues and greens – marine or acqua tones – to the warm and dry colour of hay, and with contrasts of poppy and rose.
